Master of Public Policy

1. Program Learning Outcomes

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program is designed for students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in preparing, implementing, analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of public policy of the government, administration at national level and sub-national administration level, etc. Public policy is used to address the challenges of any sector of society and the economy or to achieve specific goals of national institutions at all levels and fields. Based on public policy, enterprises, private companies, national and international organizations, non-governmental organizations can develop their own governance policies to comply with public policy. Students will complete 48 credit hours comprising of 36 credits for basic core courses, major courses and elective courses and 12 credits for thesis.

Under this program, the students are encouraged to actively participate in guest lectures/workshops, academic dialog forum and local/oversea study tours.

2. Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Management or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport. Applicant must successfully defend the research proposal and English proficiency test.

*Note: Your research proposal for Master’s Thesis generally should include the following items (i) topic of Master’s Thesis, (ii) introduction to the research problem, (iii) research problem, (iv) research questions, (v) methodology, (vi) significances of your research, and (vii) timeline for your research. Applicant should submit a proposal of 3-5 pages in PDF file to School of Graduate Studies of NUM. Only applicants in the shortlist will be called for proposal defenses and English tests.
